Clutch Master Cylinder for:
R50 Cooper, R53 Cooper S and R52
R56 Cooper and Cooper S models (including Countryman and Convertible)
The master cylinder is the controlling cylinder, located near the pedal mechanism. If your car's clutch is not operating correctly, the clutch pedal is spongey but there are no external fluid leaks, the first step is to thoroughly clean the reservoir and flush the system with fresh hydraulic fluid and then bleed any air out of the system.
If the clutch is still not operating correctly, investigate to determine whether the fault lies with the salve cylinder, the master cylinder or a blockage in a flexible hose.
